Silent Treatment

Action is louder than words
(Photo from Zawezome)Me and my friends were at a party a while back and we were playing truth or dare. It was my turn and I decided to go with dare.
At the time my dare was going to be thought of my best friend Rob had gone to the bathroom and wasn't in the room. So, my other friend who was making the dare decided to make the dare that I had to ignore and not talk to Rob for the rest of the night no matter what.
When my friend Rob got back it was really awkward. I tried not to make eye contact with him but eventually he was going to talk to me. The first thing he asked me was what my dare was.
When I wasn't replying to him he got confused. Eventually he stopped talking to me. He knew something was up.
As the night went on I got smart and decided to use technology to my advantage. I texted Rob and let him know what was up. He found it funny.
We then thought it would be funny to have Rob get mad at me for ignoring him and start a fake fight with me at the party, to trick everyone.
Rob then came up to me and pushed me and started yelling at me. He eventually left the party and had everyone believing that we really fought and possibly that our friendship was over.
The next day at school, everyone saw us together and knew they had been conned. It was just funny to see everyone’s faces at the party. My friend Mike the one who made the dare up was in shock and kind of felt bad for me.
He even tried to call Rob up and get him to come back to the party but that didn't work out.

Truth or Dare "Spaz" Style
(Photo from merfam)Me, my boyfriend Tony, my friend Erica, and My friend Heather were bored, so we went over from Erica's house to mine. My house is located in Rensselaer, Indiana, The United States of America. I made us some cheese pizza and turned on the TV, and we decided that we wanted to play a truth or dare board game.

My house is located in Rensselaer, Indiana, The United States of America. I made us some cheese pizza and turned on the TV, and we decided that we wanted to play a
truth or dare board game. So I got out the game, we all gathered around in a circle, and the game began. Each of us either had to tell
an embarrassing secret or perform a strange task in front of each other. It ended up being a funny and memorable game. One of the most memorable dares was one that involved me.
One notable dare involved my friend Erica posing with a broom and my mother's yellow and blue shoe. I was dared to open my mouth as wide as I possibly could, and not talk, while someone wrote
"spaz" on my forehead in lipstick. So I sat there and opened my mouth wide, trying not to talk, (or laugh) as Erica got some of my red lipstick, held my forehead, and slowly wrote each letter on my skin.
I had to stay that way for the rest of the game, which was a lengthy one. It was fun, but at the same time embarrassing. It was awkward keeping my
mouth open so wide, and also a little painful after an hour or so. It was also difficult to wash off the lipstick afterwards. It was a fun game however, no matter how strange or embarrassing the task was.
It was a funny game because I got the strangest task to complete out of anyone else playing the game, and it was hilarious to see myself doing it. It's also funny to look back on and remember how silly me and my friends could get when we were bored.

Summer dares... We were all really hot...
Hot Guy On the Bicycle
Summer vacations growing up in New Mexico guaranteed two unquestionable realities in my life. First, the sweltering heat caused a lethargy that would spread across the neighborhood like a blanket.
If you were one of the few lucky children in our subdivision whose parents could afford pool passes, then you were given some relief in the form of what could only be described as outdoor bath water.
The second reality is that sometime after dinner, when the sun had set and the air began cooling down, the lethargy would lift and the neighborhood would come alive. Moms would be outside watering their wilted peonies.
Dads could be heard opening beer cans and tuning their radios in the garage to the baseball game. Shortly after nightfall, the bikes would come out, ball games were organized, and once the parents were settled in their lawn chairs or around tables to play Gin Rummy and we hightailed it to our favorite destinations.
The summer I turned thirteen Truth or Dare was having a run of popularity within my crowd. Spin the Bottle was also having quite a bit of play in my sixteen year old sisters' life. She didn't tell me of course, I had to learn it through much less obvious means... reading her diary.
Friday nights was her "date" nights, and Friday night was my Truth or Dare night. We had a group of maybe six or seven regulars, mostly girls. One or two of the neighborhood boys would nonchalantly stroll by our spot in the park and pretend to not be interested.
We would get particularly excited if Kevin Dean or Johnny Rizzo stumbled into our game. By the first week in August, our Friday night game had become a regular habit. So far, I had squeaked by without revealing too much about my secret crush... Kevin Dean.
I had also managed to avoid getting dared to do anything dangerous or embarrassing. That first week in August would change it all. It was one of those rare nights in the desert when a breeze couldn't be felt. Air conditioners were on full blast and yet, everyone felt sticky.
Our turnout for the game was few. My best friend Lisa, her cousin Jenn, and I waited to see if anyone would show up. Finally, Kevin and Johnny rode up on their bikes. I knew Jenn had been hoping Kevin (my Kevin!) would be playing. After securing myself behind truth after truth, I knew I had to take the dare.
I smiled a big perfect Vanna White smile when Kevin offered to do his dare at the same time. It was like we were a team, in on something together! Jenn's smile quickly left her face, but recovered when she realized she would be picking our dares. "I will whisper each of your dares to you and we'll see who wimps out first," Jenn said smiling a wicked smile at me.
Kevin made it clear that he was up for the challenge. I tried to be brave as Jenn whispered my dare into my ear. I felt the blood drain out of my face, but knew I could do this as long as everyone agreed to turn their backs until I was safely concealed.
We made our way to the fence on the other side of the park and I took a deep breath as I climbed over the metal fence. I dropped down to the other side and looked at my group. I mentally told myself I was fine.
I could do this. "Ok, I need you to all turn your backs just until I get in. I'll call out when I'm ready," I said. "Come on Jill, it's not like we haven't seen everything you've got in health class," Johnny said, but he turned his back anyway.
I quickly stripped out of my clothes and ran to the edge of the pool and slid in. When I was sure I was safely concealed I yelled. "Ok, I'm in. See me," I said waving from the warm pool water. Just then my heart leapt into my chest as I saw Kevin hop the fence.
How could Jenn have given him the same dare. I was naked!! He didn't come over though. He half-waved and smiled. "I'm really sorry about this. I didn't want to do it. But... it is a dare", he said as he picked up my pile of clothes and hopped back over the fence. I heard them laughing until their voices became smaller and smaller in the hot night air.

Mc'Batman - How A Dare Got Me A Job
Had to run around in a Batman Costume as a dare!
(Photo from Olaf) One day while my friends and I were in high school we decided we would play a game of truth or dare. It had been ages since we'd played it, so we were trying to make it as fun as possible.
There were all of the typical dares that our group was known for such as snorting pixie sticks or trying to eat candy bars as fast as possible. The game was starting to lose its novelty and a lot of people were starting to get bored.
To keep everything interesting, my friend Tommy came up with a dare that caught everyone off guard. He dared my friend Mike to put on a batman costume he had gotten for Halloween a couple years back and walk into a McDonalds that was just up the street and ask for an application.
We all thought it was hilarious, so there was no way Mike could get out of it. So Mike ran across the street to his house to suit up. We could hardly contain our laughter when he walked back into the house dressed as Batman.
We all jumped in our cars and headed over to the McDonalds. As soon as we got there, Mike hoped out of his car and ran for the door. He threw it open as ran to the counter. He leaned against it and shouted:
"I am the hero this restaurant deserves! I would like an application!"
We couldn't hold our laughter as the manager came from the back to confront Mike. To our surprise, the manager told Mike that she loved his enthusiasm and set up an interview with him for later that week.
What started out as a really funny dare actually lead to Mike getting a real job at McDonalds, which was a shock to all of us.

A Night Out On the Town with an Off Duty Officer
Photo from lord enfieldWhen I was 20 years old I was quite the goody two shoes. I didn't get into much trouble and was a single mom at the time so responsibility seemed to be my middle name at the time.
However I had a close cousin of mine who worked about an hour away in a large city at a strip club. Many nights I would be here designated ride home. I would pick her up and we would go eat at a restaurant and maybe go clubbing.
One night my cousin brought two men she met at the strip club with us to dinner at the local TJ's. The two men were off duty cops and they were both very inebriated. By the time dinner was done I was done with the two men.
They were drunk and getting belligerent. They wanted us to go partying at a local club. My cousin was just as fed up with their antics. We decided to play truth or dare with them.
They dared me to leave them there since it was obvious I was not impressed by their antics. So I took my cousin and I left them at the restaurant. The next morning I woke up and in the back seat of my car was one of the cop's wallet with his badge and $200 in it.
I knew a local retired policeman who saw to it that the man got his wallet and his money back without his supervisors finding out he had lost his wallet.
I saw the man a month later at a club one night and he dropped to his knees and thanked me for getting his wallet back to him. His main concern had been the $200 dollars. It was his child support money!!!!

Cussin at an Old Gramma
by Kristy
(Riverside,California,United States)
So on the bus after school we were playing Truth or Dare. Everybody hates our bus driver so we wanted all the dares to be mean to her.
My friend dared me to, when I got off the bus, yell:
"I'm a bad ass bitches!"
So when I got off, Just before the doors closed I yelled "I'm a bad ass bitches!"
Me and my friend turned to run when we saw my old gramma neighbor staring with her mouth open at us.
My bus driver got off the bus and walked us up to my house and explained the whole situation.
Now my parents are mad at me and... my neighbor is afraid of me because she thinks I'm a gangster and I will go to juvy ;)

Biking Under the Influence
by Lauren
(Photo from Amy)My name is Lauren and I was playing Truth or Dare with some of my old high school friends one Friday night. Of course we all had been taking shots prior to deciding we should play this game.
I was about 10 shots in of both dark and clear liquor. Probably wasn't such a good idea. It was my turn and I chose "Dare." Immediately, I regretted my choice but it was too late and there was no going back.
My friends all smiled mischievously and looked at one another. They huddled together and started whispering. The anticipation was killing me. They were finally ready to tell me, but first, they handed me a double shot and advised me that I would be needing it.
My dare was to ride my bicycle through the Burger King drive-thru with cake all over my face and whip cream all in my hair. Not only did I have to order a meal but I had to get an ice cream cone and smash it into the cashiers face.
I was drunk so I thought it was somewhat funny but I knew I would be regretting it in the morning if I were to get in trouble.
A dare is a dare. I rode my bike to the drive thru, ordered a meal and when the cashier saw my appearance, she started laughing. I got my change and my meal. I was only waiting for the ice cream cone.
Once I got it, I called the cashier back over to the window and BAM. It went all in her face. I tried riding my bike away as fast as I could but I rode into a ditch, flipped over and fell into a bush.
Not only that but the Hawaii State Police saw what happened and started bursting into laughter. They came over shined their shiny light at me and stopped laughing. They could smell the reeking alcohol coming out of my breath and wrote me up a DUI.
DUI for riding a bike under the influence. Can you imagine that?

Excuse Me...Are You Famous?
by Jenny Lou-Who
Meet Emmitt Smith, the famous American football player
(Photo from johntrainor)One day I was at the Vally View mall in Dallas, TX with my new roommate Miranda. We were in the music store checking out all of the newest albums (and flirting with the very cute guy at the counter!), when Miranda looked out the door and saw Emmitt Smith, with his daughter in a stroller, standing in front of a shoe store.
She got so excited that she was jumping up and down saying, "Oh My God, Oh My God...that's Emmitt Smith!" I had never seen a picture of him (I am not at all into sports) so I did not know what he looked like, but I told her that it couldn't be him because famous people don't come to malls!
She got more and more excited and jumped higher and higher! She kept insisting that it was him. She said, "I've got his posters all over my room at my parents' house. He's my favorite player and he plays for my favorite team. I know what he looks like and I know that's him!"
She told me that since I didn't believe her, that she DARED me to go ask him if he was Emmitt Smith and to get his autograph if he was. I walked right up to him and said, "Excuse me, can I ask you a question?" He said, "Yes", and I go, "Are you Emmitt Smith?"
He gave me the funniest look that kind of said "duh!" and answered, "Yes I am." My response...."Oh well, in that case, can I have your autograph!" He gave me another funny look, signed the paper I had in my hand.
Then he chased his wife out of the shoe store, and they, with their daughter in tow, hightailed it out of that mall!
So, I learned that even famous people go to malls! (I also believe that he will never go to that mall again because there is the chance that he might run into me again!!!)
